Through prevention and empowerment efforts we imagine a future where all our youth and adults are free from substance abuse.

Do you own rental property in Milton? Studies show that smoke free policies can lower homeowners’ insurance rates, reduce repair and turnover expenses, and shorten vacancy time. If you’re considering adopting a smoke free policy, MCYC can help! We can assist with access to free signage, offer cessation support to tenants, and offer sample policy language. Email Jessica (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more info.
Do you have unused, unwanted, or expired medication in your home? You can dispose of it free of charge and anonymously through the DEA’s Drug Take Back Day program! Visit www.chittendenpreventionnetwork.com for the next event date and location, as well as a list of permanent drop off locations in Chittenden County.
On April 3rd, 2017 in partnership with the MCYC the Milton Selectboard approved the Milton Combustible and Noncombustible Free Values Based Resolution. This Resolution states that Milton values a community free from substance abuse and that areas of parks and other public spaces within Milton where children are present may be designated substance-use free. Decreasing exposure of youth to secondhand smoke and the role modeling of substance use is a key factor in decreasing their chance of developing a substance abuse disorder.
