Iron Art
Iron Art
Iron Art is a regular program of the MCYC that takes the theme of Iron Chef and applies it to art making! Participants are given a secret ingredient and parameters. After this, they create unique works of art including all of the necessary ingredients and steps. Past events have included themes such as snow sculpture and healthy habits.
Typically these events take place during three times throughout the year. During October’s Red Ribbon Week for 3rd and 4th graders, Milton’s February Winter Festival for 5th graders, and a new event will take place this spring during Kick Butts Day for 6th graders.
Students are chosen to participate based on the positive reinforcement system in place at the schools rewarding good behavior. At times an entire grade level will participate, while at others specific students are chosen based on nominations from both teachers and school professionals.
